We joined in early 2025, to learn and prepare
We joined in early 2025 to learn and prepare for our circumnavigation, and we are glad we did. In October, at the Annapolis Boat Show, Dietmar, who runs Ocean Posse, handed us our official burgee.
Ocean Posse is a fleet for independent, owner-operated cruising yachts. In their words, you get the connections and resources of a rally without fixed departure dates, a mandatory schedule, or sailing in convoy. You choose the route and the weather window. Weekly fleet calls and a 24/7 members’ chat carry what boats have just seen, from anchorages and weather to ports and repairs.
That is how we live on Some Tuesday. We are a couple on a catamaran, and this fleet lets us keep sailing on our own clock. One membership covers the yacht, the captain, and the crew. Ocean Posse started in 2017. Their join page describes a fleet of more than 300 cruising yachts across the Americas, the Caribbean, the Atlantic, the Mediterranean, and the Pacific.
By the way, we’re not being paid or even patted on the back to hype these guys up. We truly just love the organization and want to share this valuable resource with the community!
